QUESTION AND ANSWER TIME

We took all of our most asked questions, as well as questions we think should be answered before booking a photographer, and compiled it all into one place! Come on in and get the answers you’re looking for!

1. Do you travel outside of your home base?
   Absolutely! TJ and I are travel addicts and will take any opportunity we can to be in a cool place. Especially if that means we get to take photos of some cute ass couples while we are there! We are always down to travel for whatever you want us there to capture.
   
   
2. What kind of gear do you use?
   Rach uses a Canon R6 and a Canon RP, and TJ uses a Canon RP! We have a variety of lenses, and are beginning to dip our toes into drone as well! (see below, we’re obsessed!!)
   
   
   
3. How many photos will we receive?
   This is a tough question, but we totally understand why it is asked. We don’t give an exact number of photos that you will receive, and we’ll tell you why. Every single elopement, wedding, session, etc. is completely unique. We take great pride in the final gallery delivery, and we promise you that you will receive more photos than you will know what to do with! However, by giving a ‘number of photos to be received’, your gallery could potentially having some filler images in there just to make sure we meet that number. Our goal is to provide you with a gallery that, as a whole, leaves you speechless. By not giving a certain number of photos to be delivered, we are able to give you the most perfectly cultivated gallery that will make it hard for you to choose a favorite.
   
   
4. Do you provide the RAW photos?
   The best way we can answer this will possibly come off as a little rude, but we’re just gonna say it – would you go to a restaurant, and ask them to just bring you raw chicken? Of course you wouldn’t! You go to a restaurant to have your food prepared by the professional that is hired to do that job. We hope you can understand that this truly isn’t much different! When looking for a photographer, you need to choose someone who’s work you LOVE. Their editing and all. When we take photos, we take them with the final image in mind. The RAW photos can often need a lot of work in the editing process. Hire us because you love our final product, not just because we have some fancy cameras!

5. Can I extend my coverage amount the day of?
   It all depends! As long as we don’t have any prior engagements, we would be happy to extend your coverage! We would however need to charge a small additional fee for this, just to make sure our dog has care for the extra time we will be away!
   
   
6. Can you describe your approach to photographing couples?
   We take a documentary style approach when it comes to photographing the sweet couples we get to work with. Regardless of what the event is (elopement, wedding, couples session, etc.), We want you to be able to look through your final gallery and see more than just photos of yourselves. We want you to remember the mountains you got to stare at. The field of wildflowers you got to admire. We want to capture all of those little details that you may forget, as they are part of what made your day so special. We play to our strengths: Rach focuses more on the couple, while TJ focuses more on the B-Roll, detail photos. We both get photos that the other would have never thought of, and that is what makes us such a powerful team.

7. What is required to book you?
   We make it easy! Retainer depends on what type of session you’re booking – if it is a general couples session or engagement session, we require a 50% retainer. If you’re booking a wedding or an elopement, we require a $1000 retainer! As well as this, we require a firm date, general location, and a signed contract! Once all of this is complete, you are locked in our calendar :)
   
   
8. What if there is bad weather on our big day?
   We typically leave 1 day before, and 1 day after your reserved date open for rescheduling in the case that the conditions are unsafe. This however, is only if they are too unsafe to go through with it. We want to make sure each couple that we work with has a certain level of an open mind. If you aren’t open to the potential of there being some rain or wind on your wedding day, an adventure elopement may not be your best fit (and that is COMPLETELY okay!). We have the gear set ups to shoot in the rain. When it comes to choosing an adventure elopement, you have to be ready to potentially pivot your plans, and roll with it without letting it ruin your day! This is why we have multiple back up plans in place. When you book us, we work together to create a ranked list of back up plans in order of your preferences, that way we know what are Plan B (and C and D and so on..) are if we can go through with our original plan.
   
   
   • For perfect example, THIS COUPLE. The day started off beautiful and sunny, but quickly turned into a crazy rain storm. Instead of letting it upset them, they decided to strip down and embrace the rain! They danced in it, frolicked, laughed, made out, just completely rolled with it and had the best time. We will bring clear umbrellas for your use if they are needed, unless you’re ready to dance in the rain!
     
     
9. Why do you go out of your way to help plan instead of just being the photographers?
   Regardless of what you are hiring us to photograph, there is planning involved. Weddings and elopements have a LOT of figuring out to do. Specifically referring to elopements – there is so freaking much to figure out yourself, as elopement planners (while they are recently becoming more popular) are not as common as big wedding planners. When eloping, you are usually the one in charge of figuring out what permits you need, how to obtain a marriage license, what activities you want to do, etc. We are here to take as much stress off of you as we possibly can. We are not there to just show up on your big day, take some photos, and leave. We want to learn all about you two and your relationship so we understand how to best serve you. We help you figure out what your best day ever looks like, and then work with you to figure out how to bring it all to life. We are here to be your guides throughout the entire process, from initial inquiry, to gallery delivery, and beyond.
