Wedding planning can be an exciting and joyful experience, but it can also unfortunately be a source of stress and anxiety. Here are some tips for reducing stress during the wedding planning process:
Set priorities and STICK TO THEM Right from the beginning, it is extremely important to determine what is most important to you and your partner and focus on those elements of the wedding. Make a list of all of your top priorities, put them in order of most to least important, then start chipping away at the list in the order things are listed in. You can only do so much, especially if you’re planning the whole thing yourselves. This is your wedding we’re talking about here, the last thing you deserve to be is stressed!
Make A Timeline, Plan Ahead The earlier you start planning, the more time you’ll have to deal with any potential problems that arise. Having a timeline in place allows for everyone involved in your big day to be totally in the loop on where they are supposed to be and when they are supposed to be there. Making a timeline is a vital key to an organized and smooth running wedding!
Hire A Wedding Planner If you’re feeling overwhelmed about having to plan the whole thing yourselves, consider hiring a wedding planner to handle the details and make the planning process less stressful. Planners (especially day-of planners that are there for your wedding to be the ones to keep things on schedule) are an amazing vendor to consider for your wedding. They keep track of everything so you don’t have to! One of our favorite wedding planners is Evermore Wedding Design and Coordination – they are an amazing, sweet, and dedicated team that will help your wedding day run as smoothly as possible!
Take Breaks All of these tips are important and helpful, however this one is one of the most important. TAKE BREAKS. If you’re reading this then you are already well aware how stressful wedding planning can be. Make sure to take time away from it to engage in things that bring you pure joy. Make sure to have date nights, bubble baths and face masks, and nights off where you do absolutely NOTHING (sometimes this is the best form of self care)
Communicate Okay I feel like I say this a lot but this one is SO IMPORTANT TOO. It is so beyond important that you and your partner keep the lines of communication open. Discuss your feelings, concerns, and ideas for the wedding. This is your wedding, planning it should bring so much joy and excitement to both of you!
Remember what this day is all about!! Keep in mind why you’re getting married in the first place. Focus on the love and commitment you share with your partner, rather than the details of the wedding. When things get stressful and overwhelming, it is so important to take time away to just have a date night and remember what this day is about!
